British rosé veal is produced to the highest welfare standards. The calves are fed a natural diet including fibre and whole milk and are group reared in straw-bedded barns.
This is very different from the way veal is produced in continental Europe, where calves receive little solid food and may be housed on slatted floors with no bedding.
British rosé veal is freedom food certified and supported by The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' UK Veal Forum. Members of the forum include the RSPCA, Compassion in World Farming and several major supermarkets, which are increasingly stocking British veal.
